Harvest Dress

I really like how this dress turned out. I think it's festive without screaming Halloween, so she can wear it in November too :)

Olivia Dress pattern by Farbenmix. I am addicted to this pattern. I think all the knits in my house want to be sewn up with this pattern. But exactly how many Olivia dresses can one girl have. I guess we will find out..

The embroidery Eliana picked out. She REALLY wanted a pumpkin. The embroidery is from www.bunnycup.com. Everything I've stitched out from her designs is perfect. I wanted to add something to the dress and I think the embroidery is a fun touch.

I like making this dress with the contrasting color hood and pocket too. I got the idea from my friend Michelle, thanks mama

No seam ripping on this whew...That always encourages me.

Yesterday I was watching all the trees rain down leaves. It was so beautiful and I was grateful for this beautful season. Enjoy this season of beauty.

My NEW Favorite Dress Pattern!

The Olivia by Farbenmix.

(Chickens not included.)

This pattern sews together super-fast. Knit dress with a cool knotted hood and flared sleeves.

This one... I used JoAnn's Fabrics knit. (as if I didn''t have enough to choose from!)

No seam ripping on this one! The hardest part is tracing the pattern.

Here is another version of the Olivia with the pinafore.

I cut this one out SO specifically to show off the brown bird on the back ..... only to find out that the hood covers up the bird perfectly. I did a great job ... you'll have to trust me.

I really like the style and shape of these Euro patterns.

OH, and I'm totally "button spacing challenged"! I had to call two friends with help spacing out these buttons. My friend Cheryl sent me this cooooool gadget.... http://www.handmades.com/notions-measure.html

I can't wait to try it on the next one.

When you think to yourself ......

.... as you're reading a pattern, "they must mean for me to do this ..." You are bound to be seam ripping in your future! At least that's my experience. I should know by now that when I'm thinking that phrase, "This must be what they mean" .. Those are dangerous words!

I sewed this dress to completion, only to realize that I had done the first two steps wrong! ...Resulting in seam ripping all the way back to the original pieces! :sigh: That's a lot of seam ripping.

But I love the fabric and I had to save it!

The dress turned out ok... It just feels like I made two of them, though. This is the Farbenmix Anna Wrap Dress.

Anna Wrap Dress

This is my first'succesful' Anna Wrap Dress from Farbenmix.. The first ones I had to seam rip three times!
Seth was looking at my blog and said ...You've got to post some of the things you've sewn! .. It's a sewing blog!

I'm in love with these European patterns. They take some getting used to... No pictures and limited instruction. But they are totally worth it.

Spelling

Uggh, Why do I struggle so much with spelling??? I will look over something I have written 5 times and still not see my errors. I *know* how something should be spelled. If I write it, I won't use the wrong word.. Like here instead or hear...But for some weird reason, if I type it..I leave out words or add words or letters.. Really strange.

I would like to wake up tomorrow and be a good speller. I feel stupid, that it is such a challenge for me. I am forever grateful for spell check.

an aside.. I feel really sad and tired. I feel so strung out or I told someone "I feel like a fried egg!" I have been under too much stress for me. I DON'T do stress well. My spelling error tonight has me feeling stupid and in tears. In the life scheme, it's nothing to stress about or even cry about. But I think I need a day of prayer and sleep. I long for a quiet moment with God. I need His sweet refreshing. I want to bask in His comfort and let His strength carry me. I have not taken some real time to pray for a while and I feel it's effects on my heart and life.

Spell Check...seam ripper for bad spellers.
