Nina Newton is the designer and creator behind mamas*little*treasues. Her designs are inspired by her two beautiful daughters, Gracie and Annie, who are both adopted from China. Nina has been sewing for over 25 years, and she has been designing and creating children’s boutique clothing since her older children were small. After raising four biological children, who are all grown up now with babies of their own, Nina and her husband Doug decided to pursue international adoption. Nina is actively involved in assisting other potential adoptive families on their journey to their children, and is currently building a website that will include a variety of information and resources for any family who has questions about international adoption.
With many years of sewing experience, as well as doing some free-lance writing over the past few years, Nina continues to design and create children’s boutique clothing, as well as write ebook patterns that are avaliable online. A new direction for mamas*little*treasures will be designing and writing eBook patterns for the little princesses who are getting a bit more mature in their clothing choices. “Little Ladies” is a new collection for fall, and will include a variety of designs for school, play, and dress-up. This collection was inspired from the realization that there is a need for both garments as well as patterns that are classic, modest, and yet fresh and fun for the ‘tweens, the girls between the ages of 7 – 12.
Nina and her family live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where she works from her home studio. With a million design ideas in her head and her portfolio, you never know where you might find the designs of mamas*little*treasures!
