Starleigh Headbands

This is brought to you via the inspiration of Starleigh (from AmityMama), the sewing expertise of my little sister Tobey who is 8yrs old and my photo taking and direction writing- Enjoy!

Materials:

6"x14" piece woven fabric
2.5"x11" piece woven fabric
7" piece of 3/4"elastic

Step 1

Assemble your supplies

Step 2

Using 1/4-3/8" seam allowances (use this throughout), sew woven fabrics right sides together along long side. This will make two long tubes.

Step 3

Turn your tubes right sides out and press, centering the seam. (to flip the small tube I had to sew the small end closed and use my 'turn it all', cool notion from JoAnn's, and then trim the end off)

Step 4

Next thread your elastic through the small casing

Step 5

5a.) You are now going to make an elastic and fabric tube sandwich. Center your small tube, with elastic inside, right sides together with the large tube.

5b.) Fold one side of the large tube over the elastic casing.

5c.) Fold other side of large tube over elastic casing.

Step 6

Sew over end, I go back and forth 3 or so times.

Step 7

Do the same with the opposite end.

Step 8

Pull the stitched ends so that the headband is complete.

Step 9

Wear and enjoy!
